Yes this was found to be an issue . I replicated it . But this is found to be an issue in pmpro itself .Its not returning cancelled level id and hence the course removal code is not working .
Its hasmemberhsiplevel is working .We can check if the user has any membership level connected to the course then it will release the access otherwise remove the user from course .
But above method have one flaw ,it will also remove the user who purchase the course with other pricing options if user does not have any membership level connected to the course .
When creating a page with membership requirement for access this is blocked when you cancel the membership. I think the error is not in PMPRO if I like I can share site credentials.
Okay we developed a workaround for this pmpro internal issue,
Please share your site url ,admin credentials and a valid ftp credentials to fix this issue at your end .
