Can't use customise from "Appearance" to change settings in theme

I have problem when trying to customise theme from appearance and I also haven't been able to update theme to the latest version, still have 1.7.5. I get this message <span class="edit">Edit</span> <span class="add">Add</span> <span class="screen-reader-text">Vibe Advanced Layered Nav</span> Pls help
