category tabs on courses page

Can I add this tab function to the courses page over here?

Sorry, adding this tab on directory page is not available but you can use buddypress course filter widget on directory page. Go to wp-admin-> Appearance -> Widgets -> Buddypress course filter widget.

Okay. But then where do I add this widget?

Well that needs two things :

1. change your directory layout from wp-admin -> appearance -> customize -> layouts -> direcotry layout : change it to 2 or third . (in layout that you selected sidebar does not appear and hence the widgets does not appear) .

2. After changing layout simply add the Buddypress course FILTER widget in BUddypress sidebar .This widget will allow user to filter courses based on categories .

Thank you but that doesn't work for me. Is it difficult to get that specific tab on the directory page above the featured images of all the courses? I wouldn't mind a customization I need to pay for..
