Custom registration form and DATE filed

Hi, I have a problem with my custom login form, I have added a Date field in my extended profile, the date format is j F, Y the same as my website general settings, but when students register on website, the date is not saved. The filed is working in front-end and backend, so if an admin set the field in the backand data are save, and if a student set the field in profile frontend also the data is saved. I'd like to know if is a bug or a problem in my envoirment. I tried without any added code but the problem still remain. Thank you for help, Marco
