Custom roles & dashboards

Hello, I'd like some users to have a different dashboard than the Students & Instructors.  In appearance > widgets, I can only add elements to instructor or student sidebar. Is it possible to create a specific Role which would give access to a different dashboard? Thanks for your feedback
