Hoi, No, i cant. haha this is surely coming from buddypress: http://prntscr.com/o5v3nj sync and then try.

now if we talk about the translation loss. yes on every update local files will be affected so that you need to put these translated files into global folders. it will prevent string loss from the update.

here is how you can achieve this.

Note: in this, I am using my local test setup site language which is "Português do Brasil". you have to select your site language.

Always sync and save the pot file refer: http://prntscr.com/ng3kbk

Note: Always copy local .Po | .Mo files into the global folder. it will prevent from translation string loss while updating theme/ plugins.

How could you do this: https://screencast-o-matic.com/watch/cqfQh6ZllK

    In this video,

    1. i have checked the site language from wp-admin > settings > general > site language.
    2. then goto wp-admin > loco translate > theme/plugin > theme name / plugin name.
    3. Copy author file to system file.
    4. the author stands for local file and system stands for the global file.
    5. once your done copying. from now you have to translate a string in global (system) file.

These steps should be followed for all plugins and theme in which you are making any changes.

THanks! Btw, I always select the option to receive an email when you reply. I also got those in the past. But I no longer get them. What am I doing wrong?

About the steps that I should take... I only have a System buddypress-nl_NL.po file. What should I do first? Gijs

    Fella :)
    1. sync and save.
    2. check it is author or system or custom.
    3. then copy it in system aka global.
    4. sync again and check if the translated string is present or not.
    5. this should resolve your issue.

No, I mean that I can't do your step 3 (then copy it in system aka global.) because it is already a system/global PO file. How do I get the local file back?

Hello, no need to perform step 3. if it is already in global folder. i have checked into your site and yes it is not reflecting, there could be two things: 1- this is saved in data base 2- your pot file is not updated with latest version of buddypress. please check your buddypress version and make sure it is of latest version. i need to debug the issue to make sure why is it not translating. as this is weekend holiday please remind me by monday.

In my test setup, these strings could be translated from wplms theme but in your case, you have 2 themes of version 3.9.2 and 3.9.4 with blank child theme. its little bit confusing, how to differentiate between those. refer: http://prntscr.com/o9vlh1

Are we talking just loco translate childtheme? Because I know I have very packed wordpress childtheme with lots of customization. I do see this regarding translations.. screenshot What should I do?
