Get the latest version of WPLMS

How do I get the latest version of the software.  Every time I got the notification email about a new version, the link points me to the  envato download page, but the downloaded file always have the same name, did I do something wrong?  or is it upgrade from the live site is only way to go?  Thanks. Well when you download it will have same name of the file .The change is in version and the files and the code in those files . The package you will download would be latest package we uploaded for theme . Well there are actually two methods to update wplms : Auto updating WPLMS : https://wplms.io/support/knowledge-base/auto-updating-wplms/  Manually updating WPLMS : https://wplms.io/support/knowledge-base/manually-updating-wplms/   If you are wplms version 3.6 or below then please follow : Manually updating WPLMS : https://wplms.io/support/knowledge-base/manually-updating-wplms/   If you are at WPLMS version 3.7 or above then follow : Auto updating WPLMS : https://wplms.io/support/knowledge-base/auto-updating-wplms/

I am looking at updating the theme from 3.6 and I cannot see how this is not going to overwrite all of the custom .css and other modifications I have done.. For example, in the sections where I specify a logo or other modifications in the WPLMS editor, does "replacing all of the files on the server" NOT overwrite those directions? and other modifications I have made .. customs.css mods and more? I do not want to overwrite these things. I have backed up the version 3.6 on my local computer, but I do not want to go through this hassle.

Well if you have edited the wplms theme files directly then your changes are gonna be lost for sure after updating theme in both case automatic and manually .

 

If you added your custom css in wp-admin -> appearance -> customize -> then you do not need to worry it wont lost on update as it is saved database.

We always recommends our users to make customizations using child themes and actions and filters provided in theme . NOTE : customizations added in wplms customizer plugin also remain safe on updates .
