Hide headers and footers during quizes

We have "exams" that we'd like to show distraction-free (no website headers and footers) while the quiz is in progress. Ideally, the headers and footers would still show on short knowledge-check-quizzes. Is it possible to hide headers for quizzes of the "exam" type? If that's too specific, can we hide headers for all quizzes? Thanks

Go to wp-admin->wplms->course templates->select full screen and save.

ok, I learned it only works after clicking 'start course', not int he course overview.
