How to customise child theme without loosing data on updates?

Hi, I have setup WPLMS modern child theme for my website. I have customised the theme and edited theme's function.php as well as wp-config.php. Is there anyway I could separate my customisations(make child theme of the wplms moden child theme) so that when there is an update of the child theme then my changes are not gone?

This is a good question, I would love to hear a solution for this. Peter

Child themes do not auto-update. Paste the code in the child theme - functions.php file and you're safe.
