October 6, 2015 at 8:41 am #1668learner4lifeParticipantHi, we are using JW Player to render video content inside units. The following fix as shared by you in KB works fine for desktop but not for mobile site: https://wplms.io/support/knowledge-base/using-jwplayer-with-wplms/ On the mobile version of the site, the player is just not visible. Plugin Author (JW Player) has maintained that it is not a plugin problem. More so, after figuring out that the player works on mobile as well if form the mobile browser setting, "Request Desktop Site" is checked. How can I get it to working on mobile site?October 6, 2015 at 8:44 am #1669learner4lifeParticipantWe have also tested it on all sorts of mobile/tablet devices and the problem remains.October 6, 2015 at 12:23 pm #1701Anshuman SahuKeymasterWe use bootstrap in wplms which allows responsiveness and there are no special scripts or code that we apply on the mobile ,the same code and scripts follow in the desktop and mobile both . The video should work on the mobile also if it is working on desktop . Also we also like you to know we are coming up with " Non-Ajax courses (100% visual composer compatibility) " feature that may fix this issue if the isseu is with ajax compatibility of the jw player.October 6, 2015 at 12:30 pm #1702learner4lifeParticipantThanks Alex, I too expect it to work on the mobile if it is working on the desktop, but I am telling you; it is NOT. Yes, if you go to Chrome setting and check "Request Desktop Site" it works. But if you do want to see the mobile version of the website, the player window doesn't show up. I am not saying that it doesn't run the video or gives some error, the player window just doesn't show up! Even tried loading the js files from CDN on .unit_content, unit_traverse but it didn't work. Would you please give it a shot yourself and let me know if you find something? The plugin I'm using if here: http://support.jwplayer.com/customer/portal/articles/1403712-jw6-wordpress-plugin-quickstart and the js is here: http://p.jwpcdn.com/6/12/jwplayer.jsOctober 7, 2015 at 12:29 pm #1861Anshuman SahuKeymasterWe have not found any issue with the jw player at our test site embeded two different videos in a unit and watch them in course . We have added both the codes in the tip : https://wplms.io/support/knowledge-base/using-jwplayer-with-wplms/ and jwplayer seems to began work with both codes added in the wplms-customizer.php file . Please try adding both of the methods method 1 and 2 and check again .October 13, 2015 at 1:40 am #2601learner4lifeParticipantDid you test this on a MOBILE SITE?October 13, 2015 at 1:29 pm #2739Anshuman SahuKeymasterYes we checked it in android in chrome browser and it showed on the mobile used the plugin " JW Player 6 Plugin for Wordpress " . Also if this is an issue with the ajax compatibility of the jwplayer then it would not have been shown in the desktop site . We would also recommend you to add the videos using the iframes .October 15, 2015 at 6:51 am #3045learner4lifeParticipantOkay, I will try this again through wplms-customizer.php Till now, I was adding the Method 1 in the functions.php file. Meantime, would you please try one more thing on mobile browser? Instead of directly accessing the unit as admin, or the direct link can you please enroll in a course as student, click "Start Course" and then continue to the unit where you had embedded videos and let me know if you can still see them? Because for us the videos are visible if the unit is opened directly, but not if opened through Start/Continue course. Lastly, in your test, are you using iframes?October 15, 2015 at 7:02 am #3049learner4lifeParticipantWhen I try to copy the code of Method 2 to my wplms-customizer.php file, the site goes blank - doesn't open at all. Am I doing something wrong? https://wplms.io/support/knowledge-base/using-jwplayer-with-wplms/October 15, 2015 at 12:07 pm #3160Anshuman SahuKeymasterThere are no such issues with the code i have copied the same code from the link : https://wplms.io/support/knowledge-base/using-jwplayer-with-wplms/ There may be some formatting also copied while you copied the code .please try copying the code in the tip by opening it in the popup . And then paste it in wplms-customizer.php file . refer : http://prntscr.com/8rjqt0October 15, 2015 at 6:22 pm #3224learner4lifeParticipantAlex, thank you for the screenshot. There was some formatting getting copied which was creating the issue. I could implement the code after copying it from the popup. Unfortunately, the problem still persists. Can you please confirm that you do not face this problem of loading the JW Player when accessing the Unit as a student after clicking on Starting/Continuing the course such that the URL at that time is www.domain.com/course-status/ The reason I ask you again specifically for this method is because the above solution works, if I click on a Unit as an admin and go to the unit page directly such that the URL is www.domain.com/unit/?id=123. However, a student can't access the Unit page directly, hence this solution must work on accessing the Unit through Start Course and after clicking next unit. Please let me know what you find.October 16, 2015 at 11:37 am #3304Anshuman SahuKeymasterHi here is the screenshot i have embedded a playlist of jw player in my unit .Please see that its a course status page and video is still playing in unit ..October 18, 2015 at 7:42 am #3503learner4lifeParticipantIt is really strange that its not working for me. Is it possible for you to please take a look at our website? www.neostencil.com The only way I have been able to work it on a mobile device is if I go to the website and select "Request Desktop Site" from chrome.October 19, 2015 at 10:19 am #3569Anshuman SahuKeymasterWe tested it by using this plugin " JW Player 6 Plugin for Wordpress " and just created a playlist and add it into the unit and find it to be working . Please try using the same plugin , create a playlist, edit a unit ,add media ,add the playlist and check it in the course -status page . NOte :- do not forget to add the code from the tip .October 19, 2015 at 4:33 pm #3666learner4lifeParticipantAlex, I am doing exactly as you told. To the very last word. STILL CAN'T GET IT TO WORK. Sorry for the caps but I am facing a lot of problem from all students. can you please take a look at it from our admin account? You can also email me directly at [email protected]
