September 26, 2019 at 8:10 pm #227907MeesterGijsSpectatorHello again, After this post, where you've told me: "Hoi Vriend, share your FTP credentials. I will perform all required actions." I have now lost all my translations. And can't change them. Because I can't find these simple strings. https://imgur.com/a/twNT8io (checkout page) https://imgur.com/tTL8CnL (checkout page) https://imgur.com/I3JlPsi (checkout page) https://imgur.com/ivbTLwz (cart)September 27, 2019 at 7:00 am #227940loganMemberHello, this is showing something, I don't know what is it(dutch, i think woo-commerce is rendering it from their DB). as you stated in another reply, after every update you lost the control over the translation strings. woocommerce takes control over it. is it?? as i know you are a smart guy. you would have taken backup of your site. you could get the lost strings from the zip file of your older version wplms.September 27, 2019 at 1:36 pm #228026MeesterGijsSpectatorI can. But in what folder? Is it wp-content/languages? Or theme/childtheme/languages? Or plugins/woocommerce? I have no idea.September 28, 2019 at 10:05 am #228094MeesterGijsSpectatorI think I have found them: /domains/meestergijs.nl/public_html/wp-content/languages/plugins. Right? But is this an issue? Look at all the woocommerce files. Should I delete some? Which ones? video: http://somup.com/cqQu6feHBISeptember 28, 2019 at 10:06 am #228096loganMemberhello, one will be in wp-content/plugins/woocommerce/language. copy everything in the zip file. one will be in wp-content/languages/plugins/woocommerce/ copy everything in the zip file. ---now goto these directories in the current setup. unzip everything at the same place stated above.September 28, 2019 at 10:16 am #228100MeesterGijsSpectatorI used the one at the bottom. That saved the translations. So yeah!! Now where do I download this updated .po file and where should I store it so that it's not affected by updates?September 28, 2019 at 10:48 am #228106MeesterGijsSpectatorI have no folder languages in woocommerce: https://imgur.com/a/yqiiCNv and "stated above." Which folder?September 28, 2019 at 11:16 am #228113MeesterGijsSpectatorAnd could you give script for this string? I can't seem to find the place to translate it: https://imgur.com/a/6fj0LKFSeptember 30, 2019 at 6:25 am #228190loganMemberThis reply has been marked as private.October 1, 2019 at 7:12 pm #228460MeesterGijsSpectator"this is coming from your membership plugin: https://imgur.com/a/6fj0LKF" I know. I changed it. But it didn't stick.. I found the file in i18n/languages. I've saved it on my pc. So whenever translations are missing I can re-upload this file? And get everything back?October 3, 2019 at 6:43 am #228566loganMemberYes !! it should be PO | MO files put this file in a global folder here: http://prntscr.com/pe6i9y once done rescan and save this file in loco translate plugin.October 9, 2019 at 2:02 pm #229406MeesterGijsSpectatorYou won't believe this. I just updated my Woocommerce plugin. And lost my translations. This time I though I was well-prepared thanks to your advice. Store the pot file from /domains/meestergijs.nl/public_html/wp-content/plugins/woocommerce/i18n/languages. So I did. I just copied the old file back to the same folder, but nothing changed. I even set back the database to before the update. But still lost. It annoys me so much. I checked at the loco translate plugin section. Only woocommerce-nl_NL.po was updated. Not the formal one. Both are in system, not author or custom. Which is good.. Now what should I do? I just don't want to change strings every damn time.. GijsOctober 9, 2019 at 2:43 pm #229411MeesterGijsSpectatorUPDATE: I deleted my woocommerce files. I imported my backup files; 4 files (woocommerce po an mo and woocommerce formal po and mo) I put them in /domains/meestergijs.nl/public_html/wp-content/languages/loco/plugins I went to Loco Translate and updated both files and saved. In advanced settings it tells me this: https://imgur.com/a/K6jGvTB Is is set correctly for the future? If I now translate strings are they saved for further updates?October 10, 2019 at 10:24 am #229544loganMemberHello, Yes, I know this is frustrating. I understand your condition. trust me your the only guy who has translated every string of wplms well. you are the reason I have done my master's degree in loco translate thing.
this is surely woocommerce issue. I think whenever you update this they provide you an updated .pot file and translated .po | .mo files of your language. it stops fetching the string from your location and retrieves the strings from the woocommerce generated .po | .mo of your language. Please try to contact them and ask about this wicked issue. settings are fine. put the files in the loco folder. and delete other po | mo files. if the remaining item is in loco then it has to retrieve the data from the remaining po | mo.October 10, 2019 at 1:52 pm #229609MeesterGijsSpectatorHaha, thanks! I'll ask Woocommerce. I'm constantly in emailchat with Tamara. She's nice. She can help with this issue, I'm sure. Thanks Logan! You think I should put the files here? /domains/meestergijs.nl/public_html/wp-content/languages/loco/plugins I now have them here: /domains/meestergijs.nl/public_html/wp-content/languages/woocommerce And I deleted all Woo files (51 files!!!!) from here: /domains/meestergijs.nl/public_html/wp-content/languages/plugins You think we good? -
