Notes and Discussion problem on units with more pages

I have tried to use the Notes and Discussion feature on different units, and I have found a problem. The problem if you have a unit with more pages: the first page has the notes icons and you can use them. After switching to the next page the notes icons are not there and you can switch where ever you want, the notes icons are not appearing, not even on the 1st page. You should reload the unit to get back to the unit's first page the notes icons... Please solve the problem. I'm on 3.9.9.

To be clear: I'm on 3.9.9 so I had not to revert back to it. The question is: being at 3.9.9 how can I use the improved function after you will solve the problem. Will you provide me a code for Customizer plugin?
