user becomes group member without permission

Hi, Without permission, users are able to join the group. I have set the group to be private and only admin can approve the members. Is there any other settings do I need to change? thanks st

@stef, No user can join a private group unless the admin or moderator approves it. But there is a case where users can join the group without the admin or moderator approving for it. If the group is also a batch in the course then the users can purchase that course and then the user can enroll in the batch/group connected to the course. This is the only case where the users can join a group without the admin or moderator approving for it. If you do not want your users to join the group even after purchasing the course then you should set your group to be hidden so that the users will not be able to see any batch in course page and hence they cannot enroll in it.   It might be possible that you have enabled this setting: https://wplms.io/support/knowledge-base/assign-groups-to-users-on-registration/
