The latest update on 9oct'15 only includes the latest version of Visual Composer plugin(since the older version has some security issues). The theme update 1.9.9 would be available this week.

That's weird. Just to make sure, we just re-checked it and Visual Composer is the most recent version in the latest theme update.

Please share more details on the issue : a. Are you on Start Course/Course Status page ? b. Have you enabled Next Unit Lock in WPLMS - Course manager and are on first unit ? c. Have you enabled Drip feed for the course ? d. Have you done any customisations ? The above marked sections are displayed in the course page on all situations unless above criteria are met.

Have you tried downloading the latest theme package from themeforest. The theme is still on same version 1.9.8 in the latest update (9oct'15), the only change is updated Visual Composer. Refer this : https://wplms.io/support/knowledge-base/how-to-update-visual-composer/

This yesterday's theme update contains the latest/updated  Visual Composer plugin. It was done due to Visual Composer security vulnerability. More information : here
