I just did a completely new installation of the site on another domain and the problem still exists. How can you guys release a theme with so many basic issues? I've been troubleshooting for more than a month now!

Hi Alex,
That's a rather clumsy answer. Please note:
1. The duration of the assignment has been set in the assignment settings. (View attached screenshot)
2. If the assignment lock is on, the student has to be able to submit the course to allow the instructor to check his or her work. Or you see, for the student, it's a confusing deadend. They won't know what to do next.
Can you please check what the issue is. I have even provided the login details in the previous post.

I use Chrome and Safari for testing. I've had the problem on both the browsers. Moreover, I don't have any anti-spam plugin installed on the site.
Will this be fixed in the 1.9.9 edition of the theme?

This is an on and off issue. Sometimes it shows results and sometimes it doesn't. Could this because of how my browser handles cache?
