October 3, 2015 at 6:02 am #1358peppiesSpectatorHello, I just noticed that all my WPLMS emails (private messages, assignment notification emails, password reset request...) all except Woocommerce emails are being sent as plain text format. I was not able to find how to switch to HTML format. All emails look really messy like one big line of text (see attached). Where to change that?October 3, 2015 at 6:51 am #1362peppiesSpectatorFurther to my request above, the WPLMS theme contains an email template (attached) that I've never seen being used in any of my emails. What am I doing wrong?October 3, 2015 at 7:19 am #1366MrVibeKeymasterDid you check the WooCommerce emails settings ? WP Admin - WooCommerce - Settings - EmailsOctober 3, 2015 at 12:41 pm #1411peppiesSpectatorAs I said in my original message, Woocommerce emails are received fine, no issues there. I created a testing installation and discovered (even after I deactivated all third party plugins) that it is the theme problem somehow. See my attached screenshots where I tested just a basic lost password email. Using WPLMS theme emails come un-formatted. As soon as I switched to Twenty Forteen theme, emails are formatted correctly. Please check my staging installation and attached picture of both emails to see the problem. URL: staging3.pure-graphics.org username: vibethemes password: QhIfC&3ajz&Fj64zh$ezOctober 5, 2015 at 8:23 am #1512peppiesSpectatorNot sure if that has something to do with the problem, but I tried to use Mandrillapp based on your recommendation. But when I experienced formatting problems, I uninstalled it, which didn't fix the problem, problems persisted. Could Mandrill plugin Permanently modify the Wordpress code to cause these problems? I doubt it but I thought I'd mention it. Please help. I want the emails to look like your template. Why aren't they being used?October 5, 2015 at 9:53 am #1529peppiesSpectatorUpdate: I went through extensive testing by deactivating all plugins one by one and I isolated the problem to Vibe Course Module v1.9.8.4. I tested it on requesting a password reset email. These emails started to look good when I replaced this module with v1.9.4. As soon as I updated it to v1.9.8.4, emails were broken again. Please address the problem. New plugin version changelog contains "* Filter for HTML emails and stopping mails totally" which is most likely the problem.October 5, 2015 at 1:44 pm #1577Anshuman SahuKeymasterCan you please intall the updated vibe course module plugin in your this site"http://staging3.pure-graphics.
org/ Also please try this tip to deactivate the wplms emails : https://wplms.io/support/knowledge-base/disable-wplms-html-emails/ October 5, 2015 at 3:01 pm #1602peppiesSpectatorThank you for the tip. I did this and system emails look good. 2 issues though: 1. I cannot use this with Mandrill plugin (some URLs links are being cut off) 2. Where can I see the template that is inside LMS settings of WPLMS in action?October 6, 2015 at 2:02 pm #1713Anshuman SahuKeymaster1. Can you please elaborate more about this issue with some screenshots 2. The tip that you have applied is to disable the email template of the wplms . When the tip is applied the emails are sent just as plain texts . However the message notifications email will be sent with the wplms email template . We are adding the filter to deactivate it too in the next update .October 7, 2015 at 3:51 pm #1895peppiesSpectator1. When I turn the Mandrill plugin on now, the generic password reset links are being cut off (see image). That's why I had to stop using it. 2. I understand that your tip has disabled the HTML emails. But I'm interested to know how to fix the email issue and use full HTML emails and email template so that all emails are nicely formatted. Attached are images with comments.October 9, 2015 at 12:19 pm #2194Anshuman SahuKeymasterThe emails that are sending from our test and sites are looking nice .There is no such issue at those sites regarding the wplms email templates . We are unable to replicate the issue .It seems to be a site specific issue . Have you tried disabling the third party plugins and check the issue ?October 9, 2015 at 2:03 pm #2219peppiesSpectatorSo is this all you can do? Does your support end when you cannot replicate the problem? 6 days ago I already mentioned above that after deactivating all plugins, the system still does this and I'm still no closer to a solution. I actually did extensive testing and deactivated even WPLMS plugins one by one. I would like to hear some suggestions how to tackle the problem, where to look and I provided you the admin login details above to the staging site. I understand you guys are busy answering lots of issues and working on updates, but where should I turn to for help if not the WPLMS developers? If there was a way to purchase a priority support I would have already purchased it several times as there seem to be a lot of issues.October 12, 2015 at 2:46 pm #2543Anshuman SahuKeymasterOkay we tested the site and please notice the following screenshots : Email template disabled : http://i.imgur.com/JXWrQuw.png Email template enabled : http://i.imgur.com/lWaHiC6.png Seems to be fine this time with the vibe course module plugin version 1.9.8.4 . The only error we found is with the password reset email . To fix that please refer : https://wplms.io/support/knowledge-base/reset-password-link-missing-2/ I would also like to inform you that in next update of wplms we are a switch which would completely disable the email wplms email templates . Please choose the charset settings to iso in lms ->settings ->email settings ->email options : http://i.imgur.com/kvQedqt.pngOctober 24, 2015 at 12:59 am #4612peppiesSpectatorHi, how did you enable the email template to get this (http://i.imgur.com/lWaHiC6.png) ? This is what I've been trying to get the whole time. I'm obviously missing a step here. My email page is set up in WPLMS Course Manager to "Email" and that page is using Email Page template. What am I doing wrong? Ok so it looks that activation emails are using the template, but the assignment notification emails or PM notifications as well as password reset emails are NOT using the template. To be consistent in communication, I want all my outgoing messages to use same template, why isn't that working?October 24, 2015 at 1:58 pm #4750MrVibeKeymasterThe templates are enabled from WP Admin - LMS - Settings - Emails section. All the emails sent by WPLMS use the same template defined in LMS - Settings - Emails, which includes notification emails etc. Can you confirm which emails are non-html -
