April 6, 2018 at 3:23 am #152379DaveSpectatorHello, I want to delete the whole section "Profile Details" on the Sign Up page and only stay with the "Account details". Is it possible to change this? Thank youApril 6, 2018 at 4:50 am #152390DianaParticipant@CoinYou, You can manage these fields from wp-admin > Users > Profile FieldsApril 6, 2018 at 5:05 am #152393DaveSpectatorThanks for the answer. I already tried out managing these fields there, but it is not possible to get the desired result. Here are the following issues: 1. It is not possible to delete the field named "Name (primary) (required)" in the section "wp-admin > Users > Profile Fields" 2. When I go to "wp-admin > LMS > Settings > Registration Forms", it is not possible to disable the field "NAME ( TEXTBOX, NECESSARY)". I guess the problem is that I cannot delete "Name (primary) (required)", mentioned in point 1. --> The same question was already answered some months ago ( https://wplms.io/support/forums/topic/registration-page-profile-details/ ), but the answer is marked as private, so I cannot see the solution. For understanding; I want that the red part in the screenshot ( https://prnt.sc/j1kfuk ) cannot be seen by users, I want that only the blue part can be seen. ThanksApril 6, 2018 at 5:21 am #152400DaveSpectatorAnd I have an additional question: Is it possible that a visitor of the website can participate (or see all the contenct) on a "Free Course" without having to register?April 6, 2018 at 12:43 pm #152466DianaParticipant@CoinYou, As a visitor, nobody can access the free course. Registration is needed 1. Name(Primary)(required) cannot be removed, it is coming from BuddyPress. this is actually the buddypress feature that we are using in wplms. Name is a primary field that's why it cannot be edited. But yes, you can translate it via Loco translate Plugin.April 6, 2018 at 4:02 pm #152482DaveSpectatorI understand that the field "Name (primary) (required)" comes from Budypress, but if I am correct, this refers to the field "Username" during the registration. I want that the users have to put a username during the registration, that is fine, but I do not want them to be forced to put their name as well. And this happens in the section "Profile fields", which I want to disappear completely. The reason why I think that this is possible is, when I copy the "field_meta" from the existing registration form (screenshot: https://prnt.sc/j1swz8 ) and add it to a new site, the sign up is exactly displayed as I want it (screenshot: https://prnt.sc/j1sx9r ), and there is no "Profile fields" section. The registration works fine as well using this sign up. So, is there any way to realize this in the Sign Up page, as it is also possible to realize it if I copy the "field_meta" from the existing registration form to other sites? Regarding the possibility to see the content of a course for visitors (no registered users), I found a solution after hours of researching. Actually it is possible! In this case, I was not asking about translations. Anyway, thanks for the answer, I will need this in the future as well.April 7, 2018 at 9:14 am #152540Anshuman SahuKeymasterNo username is totally different field and is considered for logins while the "name(required)" field is used to store the display name of the user on site . A user can have john23 as a username but John as display name on site. With use of custom registration form you can actually remove all the profile fields .April 7, 2018 at 3:55 pm #152571DaveSpectatorHi Alex, thank you for the answer, I´ll try it with a custom registration form.April 9, 2018 at 5:34 am #152618DianaParticipant@CoinYou, Sure, Let us know if you face any difficulty.
