February 7, 2016 at 7:34 pm #26260careybSpectatorHi, I've never had a problem updating the theme before but I have an issue updating from 1.9.9.1 to 2.0.2. I followed the upgrade video advice, all the widgets upgrade fine but when it comes to upgrading the theme it gets as far as unpacking the update and gets no further. It will sit at the unpacking the update message indefinitely. I suspect it could be due to the WP Max Upload size or PHP Post Max size which are lower then recommended but I am not clear how to update those parameters. I have no php.ini and so I think I need to ask my host to change them. The thing that has stopped me asking them so far is that the update seems to download from S3 and only fails at the unpacking point so I didn't think the Max Upload size would be a factor. Can you provide any ideas or suggestions on things to try? regards Carey <div class="wrap"> <h1>Update Theme</h1> Downloading update from <span class="code">https://s3.amazonaws.com/marketplace-downloads.envato.com/files/169752288/wplms.zip?AWSAccessKeyId=etc etc ... =attachment%3B+filename%3Dthemeforest-6780226-wplms-learning-management-system-wordpress-theme.zip</span>… Unpacking the update… </div> The details of the system are: <table id="status" class="wplms_status_table widefat" cellspacing="0"> <tbody> <tr> <td>Home URL:</td> <td>http://portal.real-results.co.uk</td> </tr> <tr> <td>Site URL:</td> <td>http://portal.real-results.co.uk</td> </tr> <tr> <td>WP Version:</td> <td>4.4.2</td> </tr> <tr> <td>WP Multisite Enabled:</td> <td>No</td> </tr> <tr> <td>Web Server Info:</td> <td>Apache</td> </tr> <tr> <td>PHP Version:</td> <td>5.3.29</td> </tr> <tr> <td>MySQL Version:</td> <td>5.6.28</td> </tr> <tr> <td>WP Active Plugins:</td> <td>23</td> </tr> <tr> <td>WP Memory Limit:</td> <td><mark class="yes">192 MB</mark></td> </tr> <tr> <td>WP Debug Mode:</td> <td><mark class="no">No</mark></td> </tr> <tr> <td>WP Language:</td> <td>en_US</td> </tr> <tr> <td>WP Max Upload Size:</td> <td>20 MB</td> </tr> <tr> <td>PHP Post Max Size:</td> <td>20 MB</td> </tr> <tr> <td>PHP Time Limit:</td> <td>30</td> </tr> </tbody> </table>February 7, 2016 at 8:14 pm #26262careybSpectatoralso - if I unzip the wplms package and use FTP to push it to my site to overwrite what is there is that effectively the same as doing a theme update using the updater? i.e. is that a way to get round the upload size until my host can fix the issue? regards CareyFebruary 7, 2016 at 8:57 pm #26264careybSpectatorand now I get "Download failed. Forbidden" when I try to update. Have I upset S3 by trying the upgrade too many times or are you changing the package to a newer version or something? CareyFebruary 8, 2016 at 12:39 pm #26467careybSpectatorHi - Actually this can now be closed. I updated the php.ini max upload sizes and waited 12 hours and now it has worked so I have a working 2.0.2. implementation.February 8, 2016 at 1:56 pm #26505MrVibeKeymasterThanks for updating. Please also make sure when you update you follow below steps : a. All the plugins must be updated to most recent update. b. If you're using modern theme then please update modern theme as well. c. Setup and save permalinks, if it does not help, revert permalinks in LMS - Settings. d. Clear browser cache. e. Set a BuddyPress default image in WP Admin - WPLMS - BuddyPress (fix coming up in tomorrows update.) Following above 5 points would resolve 95% of the issues which you might face after the update.
