Somehow the confirmation emails are not being sent for new subscribers. Your suggestions were:
- Installing WP Mail SMTP, but Gmail rejected the login attempts from the plugin.
Installing wpMandrill. I did it, but it was not easy, by no means! It worked, but after the first 2.000 emails I will have to pay for an account there. So, it's not the solution I was looking for.
Please advise.
You need to allow access for less secure apps for your gmail . Please refer : https://support.google.com/accounts/answer/6010255?hl=en After enabling emails will be able to send from gmail .But the Gmail mail server send limit is approximately 100-150 emails per day when connected to the server from a remote email client. You can send 500 emails each day through the Gmail SMTP server when logged into their web interface. The Comcast mail server limits residential customers to send 1,000 messages per day.
