Certificates to expire and be renewed by a new course,re-test and or assignment

We have courses which the certificate needs to be periodically updated by the student doing an update course with a quiz and assignments. Please can you implement a feature so that we can set the certificate so that it can be renewed by completing a re-test or assignment? The new certificate with the adjusted validity dates should replace the old one. In addition this certificate should in turn expire and require renewal and the cycle of reminder/re-test should continue. It should be possible to set up emails with appropriate links to renewal to be sent automatically, on dates configured by the Instructor/Admin, to the student to say "your certificate will expire shortly", "your certificate has expired"
