November 9, 2015 at 12:01 pm #7777djaefParticipantHi, I have just purchased this theme and I'm a bit overwhelmed by how complex it appears to be. I have experience with WP and with other themes (like Avada and The7 and Jupiter) but this is a whole new kettle of fish.. I don't know where to start. I realise there is loads of documentation, and over a hundred videos and all sorts of support. That's awesome. Currently I have installed the theme at its permanent url, and I have installed another copy with the demo content on a private server just to have something to refer to to see how it all works. But when I look at a totally empty site, I have no idea of the order of things and how to put it all together. So I suppose my question is how do I best get started with this beast? I realise I only have six months support to get it up and running and figure out the ins and outs of how it all works and I don't want to waste my time. I want to hit the ground running with some tips from people who have gone before me, about where to start, what to read first and generally help me develop a game plan to build a single instructor site with 2 or 3 courses to start.. Any help or tips would be greatly appreciated. PS. Is there a use Facebook group by any chance or is this the only place users can interact? Thanks GeoffNovember 9, 2015 at 1:53 pm #7825sandyMemberGreat , thanks for purchasing our theme. As you might have realised by now, this is not just a theme, it's a full system. So, here's my recommendation : a. Get started with the One Click setup on your private server. It will install the sample data and configure all the settings. b. To understand how system works : open two browsers (chrome & Safari), Login in to your site in Chrome as Admin and in safari, create a student account and pursue any course. This will give you a good insight of how things work. Make sure when a student purchases a product in your site, you complete the order form WP Admin - WooCommerce- Orders section. c. Plugins are built for specific purposes, Vibe Custom types and Vibe Course Module form the backbone of the system and should never be deactivated. d. Remaining plugins are each for a specific purpose. WPLMS Assignments for assignments, WPLMS dashboard for user dashboards, front end for front end course management. e. Since there are tons of settings here's the basic structure of settings :
- General Settings : WP Admin - WPLMS (header, logo, contact form etc.)
- Buddypress : WP Admin - wplms - buddypress
- Courses : WP Admin - wplms - courses
- Finetune course settings - WP Admin - LMS - Settings
- WP Admin - LMS - Touch Points, Commissions, etc.. for spefici purpose.
