September 22, 2020 at 6:53 pm #313180MeesterGijsSpectatorHello, Is there a way that I can create a groupcode that I can share in class, so that my students can invite themselves to the group? Now I have to know their usernames.. That's a lot of work when you have 7 classes, times 30 students. Let alone a school with 1000 students.. I know of bulk import, but I would love a way where students do the work. Not me. Also can I connect a woocommerce couponcode to a group. Members that use that code automatically get added to a specific group? Thanks, GijsSeptember 23, 2020 at 2:41 pm #313361Scott LangModeratorLet me know if your batch will be free then it is easy to just create public group and add courses. setting: https://prnt.sc/umiraa Thus users can goto the group page and click join group button user will add in group.'CSeptember 23, 2020 at 6:56 pm #313405MeesterGijsSpectatorDear Scott, It's not a public group. This is my situation. I sell membership, mostly on an individual basis. But I have 6 schools that have 100 students active at my site, hopefully more will follow in the future. I want their teachers to follow their students. So I want the students in a group. Just the 30 students that also sit together in class. I need an easy way for 30 students to join a hidden group where only the teacher can check progress and scores. I don't want to do the work other than creating the group and a teacher account. The students register themselves and should then be able to invite themselves to a group. Hope you understand. GijsSeptember 24, 2020 at 10:45 am #313621Scott LangModeratorThen only the solution is 1- Create a group 2 - Add teacher as moderator 3- Teacher will add students acordingly Note: If students will add themselves then it will be work like public group. But as you required is not availableSeptember 28, 2020 at 6:09 pm #314629MeesterGijsSpectatorWhat rights does a moderator have? Other than a student?September 29, 2020 at 10:40 am #314800Scott LangModeratorThe moderator can invite the other to join the group, You need to enable these settings https://prnt.sc/upvg0a Thus the teacher can invite them from https://prnt.sc/upvh4v Only group admin can add remove students Mods can invite students only. Or you can make teacher them as admin so they can add or remove students also. I think this is the best way 1- Create a group 2- Add teacher as admin 3- Teacher can add remove studentsOctober 5, 2020 at 7:39 pm #316180MeesterGijsSpectatorWhen a teacher is the mmoderator. He can then go to group admin and add members himself? Right? This way I don't need extra buddypress options that will only slow donw my site. Is that right? So correct steps: Teachers and students create account Teachers sends me email. I switch his account to moderator Teacher then adds all students (needs to know their usernames) Correct?October 7, 2020 at 12:23 pm #316621Scott LangModeratorHi, You can do this which I have already mentioned Mods can invite students only. Or you can make teacher them as admin so they can add or remove students also. I think this is the best way 1- Create a group 2- Add teacher as admin 3- Teacher can add remove students Tip: Try to create a test group and check the mods and admin capability
