Visual Composer is installed, but can't open the editor.
I installed from version 2.5, but I'm currently using the previous version of wplms. Is that the problem?

Yes, you need to update your theme.
How can I update without loosing translations?
Make sure all your translation files are in the SYSTEM FOLDER ie
Wp-content/languages/plugins
and
wp-content/languages/themes
