Hello, I want to use a child theme, the problem is i don't know how they work. What do i need to do so that all the changed are saved inside my child theme . Correct me if i did something wrong. 1-Install and activate the main theme. 2-Go through process and install all plugins and stuf 3- Install the black child 4- Make changes in css, content and layout. My question is weather these changes are saved in the child theme and they remain after the update of main theme. Thanks!

I Have not made any changes in the php files, but i have changed the content, widgets menus, customizations and css. I Have also changed the slider, photos on main page, writings and such things

The Widgets, menus, css customisations added to the appearance->customiser, sliders, photos, writings will remain the same after the update. These changes are saved in the database, not the child theme. Any changes that you made in theme code directly into the theme's files, That is, changes made into the PHP FILES, JS FILES, CSS FILES directly into the theme files will be lost.
