Convert student to instructor easily

Right now the way it is designed a student is not able to become instructor, unless he/she creates a new account with different email, but doing that the user will lose all of his earned badges as user/student. I would like to see a form to "convert" the user role from "student" to "instructor" just filling some additional profile fields, and allowing the user to retain his achievements in a single step. I was able to create a form to change the user role by using a third party plugin, but I'm not able to create a form to require the student to complete his profile fields before it was converted to instructor. Is this something you can include in the product? the current forms are a great idea, it would be good to be able to create a form for modifying the student profile instead of creating a new one to become instructor.
