January 28, 2018 at 7:08 pm #144549alex.briellSpectatorHi WPLMS Team, I just changed my logo and suddenly the fonts on my top menu, main menu, and in the course progress timeline got messed up. Weirdly not all the fonts on the website are lost. No fonts appear in the fonts dropdown menus if I try to customise my site appearance, but the body text and other text all still look correct. It's just the menus and course progress timeline that is wrong. I tried repeating the steps here: https://wplms.io/support/knowledge-base/google-api-key-for-font-manager-and-usage/ I also tried following the steps in this post: https://wplms.io/support/forums/topic/lost-typeface-font-family/ And I tried generating new API keys. Nothing works. I tried opening it in Edge after it wasn't opening it in Chrome, and when I tried to type in a font name, a grey box appeared a web address with the text "wplms&secret" followed by a code. Please see the screen shots linked below. https://ibb.co/bUHpzG https://ibb.co/b02BDb https://ibb.co/bV8jYb https://ibb.co/b8qnmw https://ibb.co/cqG4YbJanuary 29, 2018 at 9:17 am #144612Anshuman SahuKeymasterHi, please share your website url in a private reply.January 30, 2018 at 10:35 pm #144893alex.briellSpectatorThis reply has been marked as private.January 31, 2018 at 8:54 am #144955Anshuman SahuKeymasterHi, we need your wp-admin credentials. please share your credentials in a private reply.January 31, 2018 at 10:26 am #144962alex.briellSpectatorThis reply has been marked as private.February 1, 2018 at 10:20 am #145149H.K. The key needs to be there for the fonts to be loaded. I managed to replicate what you had done at first, but now cannot do so. I opened up the fonts manager page, deleted the key, didn't save the changes, and as soon as I clicked in the select fonts box, the fonts list appeared. But then as soon as I saved the changes, the same "no results found" message pops up. So what is the fix for this? Of course I need to be able to keep fonts loaded on my site. There must be some problem with the code in WPLMS. If there is no key, then surely no fonts should load? At all? It seems to me there's some argument or parameter in the code where the key or font path is still stored after it's been cleared from the wplms settings, allowing that part of the algorithm to load fonts. Or the fonts themselves have been stored, and so are being loaded for certain parts of the site. And somehow, this must be linked to the filename of the logo being stored. Like maybe the code that clears the old logo when uploading a new logo also clears a variable that is used in establishing the font link. Are you still looking at this? Because the screenshot you sent me isn't a sustainable fix. Thanks for the help thus far.February 1, 2018 at 11:21 am #145167alex.briellSpectatorOk, I fixed it! I noticed that every time I tried loading the fonts, something changed in the address bar and I noticed that Chrome was notifying me that my site was not secure because I wasn't using https. So I figured it was related to site security. I researched how to set my website to be secure and it was very simple because my hosting service has SSL certification enabled automatically. All I had to do: Go to wp admin > settings and change the wordpress and site address to be https:// instead of http:// It now loads the fonts perfectly every time with the same API key I was using before. Maybe when you change the logo, google sees a major change to the site, and if you aren't using encryption, it figures it might be hacked and a risk to your account or their servers, so it limits the connection. Alternatively, maybe your code is doing something in the background that doesn't save the changes properly if the site doesn't use encryption. I dunno. Anyway, I'm glad it's working now. I hope this helps someone else!! Thank you for getting back to me quickly every time.February 1, 2018 at 12:14 pm #145184Anshuman SahuKeymasterHi, Can i close this topic now.
