How to set up a "News" page or link to "News"?

In /wp-admin > Dashboard, there is the "News" feature in the left column. I know how to designate a post as "News" but I have not figured out how to link to News on my site? How do I create a menu link to News posts?  Or create a widget displaying recent News? Typing "news" or "News" in the Menu page search box doesn't turn up the News page. How can visitors find the recent News if I cannot even find it?! :) Thanks for your help!

Thanks- a simple solution. Where do I add it or find it? I.e., where in admin/backend is the image you showed in the previous post? Noobe directions, please. :) Thanks.
