Is the auto-update function really enabled?

Hi There, My problem is, I can't update from 3.9.9 to the 4.x Version because the update of the theme isn't shown. Also, the button "Check again" in the update section does not show any updates. It might be possible that Authentication is stuck due to which it is not able to fetch the update of latest version If you can share site URL with admin credentials in a private reply and Cpanel Details. I can update your theme manually

Only when everything is running on the staging site, we can start to migrate the update to the live site. So, we cannot allow a direct update on the live site by you. Is there any other way to reactivate the update function?
