July 23, 2020 at 3:48 pm #277097Scott LangModeratorHi, If your profile menu items not showing. Then please check appearance>menu >VibeBp Profile menu is the menu item added If added then you just have to go to your admin profile And this to URL ?reload-nav=1 like this:http://localhost/vibebpnew/members-directory-2/admin/?reload_nav=1July 23, 2020 at 4:36 pm #277108wiebkewetzelSpectatorHI Scott, I can't open your link as it has a localhost address. That was the same in your last answer. Thanks, WiebkeJuly 24, 2020 at 4:24 am #277163VeronicaModeratorhi @scott only tried to explain to you that please try to use this: ?reload-nav=1 after your site URL and give the example of the local host so you can try the same on your siteJuly 24, 2020 at 6:58 am #277209wiebkewetzelSpectatorHi Veronica, thanks for explaining. I can't open the profile page – instead I am I getting the 404 page. I tried opening the member's directory page and couldn't open it either. I also couldn't open and edit it with Elementor. I also can't access the dashboard. Instead of the dashboard I am shown the 404 page after logging in. I checked the pages and a dashboard page doesn't exist. Should it be there? I have the impression that something with the pages has seriously gone wrong during the upgrade. What can I do to fix them? When I use 4.03 with the old plugins and old page layouts the system works fine. I still can't open the member directory, but that doesn't seem to be a problem for the rest. Can you provide me an XML file of the member directory page to import on my site and to replace the broken member directory page? Maybe that would help to fix the problem. I am seriously considering to export all course content, roll back to my previous theme (from the time before WPLMS), tidy up the database from WPLMS and start from scratch again. I would have to do that manually as I have no backup that's old enough.I don't fancy that at all, as it would mean working directly in a copy of the database. I could seriously screw up the site by doing this. I won't be able to do that before Sunday or Monday, thus I am still open for suggestions. Thanks for your ongoing support. WiebkeJuly 24, 2020 at 8:02 am #277243wiebkewetzelSpectatorPS: I recovered a members directory page from the bin as I have several duplicates of pages from running the Vibe PB Setup wizard twice. I could open it once, but not even 5 minutes later I end up on the 404 page again when I wanted to open it. I am sick of seeing this page. I am reluctant to do a rollback to 3.9 once more as the site does work with 4.03 and the old plugins and layouts. And every rollback or every re-run of the Vibe BP setup wizard creates more chaos with duplicates and triplicates of pages and what else.July 25, 2020 at 12:18 pm #277523MrVibeKeymasterI strongly suggest that you watch these videos : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lpF0nmF5GqI&list=PL8n4TGA_rwD_ulo_n-ljF9we-YmhGSFIn The topic is long and after 20 minutes, I can not find the step where you are stuck. Can you please state what issues you are facing now. The longer the topic becomes the difficult it becomes to understand and many times the topic digresses into other areas. for the directory (also covered in video about the directory) :
- Disconnect the page from BuddyPress , WP admin - Settings - BuddyPress - Pages
Edit the page with elementor
Drag the directory widget into the page.
Configure & Save it.
Save it as BuddyPress directory page at step 1.
July 26, 2020 at 10:34 am #277608wiebkewetzelSpectatorHello Mr Vibe, I am sorry that this thread has become so difficult to understand. My problems since updating to 4.0 have developed. I am getting one solved and the next one appears. Up to date I have no fully functional site. Thanks for the instructions! I had forgotten step 1 and thus couldn't open or edit the page. But I still fail at step 3 of your instructions, as there is no members directory widget available. I found a members grid widget, but I guess that's not the same? For all other problem I will open a new thread so that we can close this one soon. Thanks for your support, WiebkeJuly 28, 2020 at 5:17 am #278026DianaParticipantYour plugins vibebp and wplms_plugins is currently inactive. Please activate those plugins and set the directory layout as Blank Layout from wp-admin > appearance > Customize > Layouts And then I will show you how to perform the above steps as instructed by Mr. Vibe Either to setup wplms 3.9.9 properly or wplms 4.0 properly. Otherwise you will face issues Because 4.03 theme is activated but plugins are not activatedJuly 28, 2020 at 5:41 am #278034wiebkewetzelSpectatorHi Diana, I had the old plugins activated because the site works more or less with them (apart from one issue for which I opened a new thread). With the new plugins nothing works. Since I need the site I can't keep the new plugins up and running all the time! That being said, I have now activated the new plugins and will keep them activated for the day. You may close this thread, as the directory widget appeared meanwhile. I have no idea why it was missing before. Thanks, WiebkeJuly 29, 2020 at 6:24 am #278312DianaParticipant@wiebkewetzel Okay, If you face any issue with the new version then please create a topic and explain there. I know it is difficult for users who are actually used to like old version of wplms And trust me, it is really challenging for us as well to explain users that it is better than the previous versions This is the new era in the fields of wordpress and we will move everything like our addons, other functionalities on react js fully Closing this topic -
