March 6, 2016 at 7:12 pm #34503vivienneParticipantHello team, When I look at the quick fixed items I see a lot of items which has to do with Modern Theme. I have Modern Theme installed and having trouble working with it for 4 weeks now. This time with Page Builder and Layer Slider. Can you please let me know if the Modern Theme is having problems with Page Builder, Visual Composer and Layer Slider? So that I know it is not me (getting crazy and about to trough everything out of the window Grrrrr) And if it is not me...is there a way I can get my other child themes back (I've deleted them) so I can try to get my website working with an other Child Theme? Also in my dashboard at Layer Slider WP, I have a message there is an update on Layer Slider but also "this site is not yet authorized to receive plugin updates and I need to enter my purchase code ?? Please reply as i really want to move on and not be delayed much longer.March 7, 2016 at 7:36 am #34589Anshuman SahuKeymasterOk there are issues as of now with the different course layouts c3 and c4 in the modern theme and also some of the issues with the transparent header . Although these are working fine in the default theme . Also you can build layouts and styles like that of modern theme in the default theme . check new demos created using the default theme . To update the layer silder please refer this tip : https://wplms.io/support/knowledge-base/how-to-update-visual-composer/ same tip will be applicable to update Eventon plugin . At last we have released many updates related to the fixes after 2.0 . Please make sure that your theme and plugins are updates to the latest versions. RE-save permalinks and clear browser cache after update .March 7, 2016 at 9:25 am #34617vivienneParticipantEverything is updated so that should not be the issue. I don't want to use Modern Theme any longer as I think I will have to update it many more times due to all the fixes that needs to be done. And I'm not a programmer/webdesigner and will not be able to fix a lot of things myself with coding. But then again, you advise to use a child theme as if I make a lot of changes in the default (parent theme), with a new update these will overwrite all my changes in the default theme, right? So what do you suggest for me to do now?March 7, 2016 at 3:59 pm #34752vivienneParticipantPlease advise me. Otherwise I have to start searching for alternative LMSMarch 8, 2016 at 7:17 am #34860Anshuman SahuKeymasterYou can use blank child theme if you want to customize your site . Blank child theme is available in the wplms package . You can use any child theme except one page child theme . We are going to remove this child theme as it have many outdated templates and also its all layouts are available in modern child theme now . Also the recent updates have many bug fixes so i would recommend to use the updates wplms theme and plugins .March 8, 2016 at 8:33 pm #35062vivienneParticipantOk thank you. Just 1 question, I have seen some WP video's (other Theme, not WPLMS) where you can switch easily between child themes and keeping all the editing you've done in 1 child theme (so you will not lose the changes) when moving to an other child theme. Will this also be the case in WPLMS? I mean, will I keep all the changes I've created in my Modern Theme when I switch to Blank Child Theme? or do i need to start from all over again/from scratch?March 9, 2016 at 10:53 am #35180vivienneParticipant?? Will I lose all my changes when I migrate from Modern Child Theme to Blank Child theme? How do I migrate ?March 9, 2016 at 11:32 am #35189Anshuman SahuKeymasterOkay if you have done changes in the modern child theme files then you will lost your changes , If you have done changes in the wplms-customizer plugin then you will not lose changes n switching to blank child theme . Also the css changes that you have done in the appearance -> customizer -> custom css will not lost as these are saved in database . After switching to the blank child theme widgets and menus will get reset . You need to set the widgets and menus again .
