Hello,
I am using 2.0.6 and am trying to translate it to my language. When I add a new language (with Loco translation manager) a newly created file already contains some translations in Russian language. Is this a problem on my end or am I just doing something wrong?
No you're not doing anything wrong. The russian translations are already included in the theme and plugins, so when you create a new russian translation file, it seems to be picking up from the existing one.
Note that loco translate keeps the files at 2 locations : wp-content/languages and one in the plugin files.
Thanks for quick reply, but I forgot to mention that I am not translating to Russian. I am translating to Slovenian language and now I have a file that contains pretranslated strings in language I do not want.
So if I save the file when I am at 10% of my own translation, there will be translated strings on my site in Russian as well. The problem is only with theme pot file.
Plugins don't have this problems as template there is wplms-front-end.pot, wplms-dashboard.pot, ... and there arn't any pretranslated strings there.
Is there a way to change the template for theme language files or delete all translated strings at once. There are 1666 already translated strings, so deleteing them one by one would take a lot of time.
Just as a side note. My site is set to use the correct language.
And I would like to add that russian translation is terrible:)
The pot file is exactly like the en_US.po, so you can simply copy the en_US.po file and rename it as wplms.pot file.
