Recomended server setup for wplms

Hi guys, Great theme! we are realy enjoying it. I was wondering if you could help me with this issue: We currently have 1800 users on a shared server and it keeps shutting down... we have a contract for 9000 student for this year and we have to migrate to a better server. From your experience what is the best setup for wplms (how many cores, RAM, hard drive - ssd/sata etc.). I've looked in buddypress support forums and there was no real conclusion... Do you think 2G RAM - 2 cpu cores and 25Gb ssd will be enough for apx 9000 users, taking into consideration that most traffic will be consentrated in school hours. Will much appreciate your advice. We have not done any benchmark testing of wplms . But this will depends on the number of user online in the site and how may queries they will run during their activity on site . Note that you can use the caching techniques on your server to make the request time considerably low so that users do not face any slow experience while using the site  .
