    I cannot remove the "responses on " line from a post even after disabling comments from that particular post. Thank you for your help.

    Try adding this css from wp-admin ->appearance ->customize -> custom css : h3.comments-title { display: none;   }

    This worked to remove the header. The rss feed still remains. Is there a way to remove the rss icon?   Thank you

    Add this css from customize : a.comments_rss { display: none; }
