November 14, 2015 at 2:26 pm #8689nena14SpectatorI wish for being able to set a start date and time for unlocking a quiz so the student can't take the quiz in advance.November 16, 2015 at 5:53 am #8801MrVibeKeymasterUse Unit start date and time. Based on unit start date feature you'll be able to use when to unlock the quiz. : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xf5NSqUGoloNovember 16, 2015 at 5:54 am #8802MrVibeKeymastermoving to other issues forum.November 16, 2015 at 6:55 am #8824nena14SpectatorSaw the movie. Tried that and it works fine for units, not for quizzes. Also, I have asked about this earlier and received the answer that it is not possible to set a start date and time for quizzes, just units.November 17, 2015 at 10:16 am #9069Anshuman SahuKeymasterYes the start date time for the quizzes do not work because the quizzes are deirectl accessible to the user while the units are not . Student can take the quiz by accessing the quiz directly on the single quiz page theredore we removed this start date time for the quiz later . Please follow this workaround : Set a small unit before the quiz and set the start date time for this unit .(start date time works for the units) .In this way user will be stopped from taking the quiz . However she still can take the quiz if she access it directly .November 17, 2015 at 2:59 pm #9140nena14SpectatorBut I suppose the student then only can take the quiz if all of the units before the "small unit" is marked completed?November 18, 2015 at 9:51 am #9289Anshuman SahuKeymasterFor that you can enable the unit locking to " Force previous unit complete " from wplms -> course manager . In this way user can only navigate through next unit button and can only see that next unit link if she marks the unit complete .November 18, 2015 at 12:29 pm #9344nena14SpectatorSorry, I was inexplicit. I meant that if I use "Set a small unit before the quiz and set the start date time for this unit (start date time works for the units). In this way user will be stopped from taking the quiz .", I guess I have to enable the unit locking to Force previous unit complete so that the student not is able to "jump over" the small unit right before the quiz? Otherwise they can only ignore the the small unit that has the set start date and time? And that means that the student have to mark all previous units before they can take the quiz?November 18, 2015 at 12:40 pm #9347nena14SpectatorWhat I actually is asking is this: Is it possible to prevent the student to take a quiz in advance without forcing them to mark all the previous units completed? (This was what I suggested for the wishlist)November 19, 2015 at 2:07 pm #9577MrVibeKeymasterYes it is possible. a. Set the course on Drip feed mode. This will stop the user from freely accessing the un-completed unit, but user can freely access previously completed unit. b. Enable the unit start date and time. c. Add a sample unit like "Proceed to quiz" with a particular start date and time just before the quiz. This would stop users from jumping on to the quiz before a set date/time, because drip works element by element. d. Now once the user reaches the unit before the quiz, she'll be able to access the quiz and your purpose of restricting access to the quiz till specific date/time is solved. If it helps, we're adding dynamic drip feed values for every course, which means you can test the course by setting drip feed duration in minutes as well. We're also adding a panel to manually manage student progress in drip courses, so you'll be able to push any student to any desired location in the course from the course - admin area as well.November 23, 2015 at 10:22 am #10165nena14SpectatorYour answer starts with "Set the course on Drip feed mode. This will stop the user from freely accessing the un-completed unit, but user can freely access previously completed unit." I interpret this as the student IS forced to have marked all the previous units? So the answer to the question is "no"? Some students workes together in groups on one computer, on one student account. That student markes the unit completed, but his friends is not. So then, when the friends is going to take a quiz on their own account, it is not possible because they have not marked all previous units. HelenaNovember 23, 2015 at 2:01 pm #10218Anshuman SahuKeymasterAnd yes the user can access the previous units which she completed in drip feed case or in the start date time case also . You can just set a unit in before the quiz to take advantage of the start date time feature which works for units only Yes the user needs to mark the previous unit complete to access next unit in wplms .November 23, 2015 at 2:22 pm #10230nena14SpectatorOkay. I understand that I can set a unit with a start date before the quiz but even if that solves one problem it creates another one as I tried to describe above. I'm failing to explain the problem, I think. Thank's anyway. HelenaNovember 23, 2015 at 2:32 pm #10232MrVibeKeymasterI think we got your issue. You want to enable Quiz start date and time feature without restricting your users for a Drip feed which impacts the overall course. Unfortunately, that is not available as of now, the only available way to approach this is via drip feed. So how about this : a. Enable Course on drip feed mode. b. Set all the unit start date/time to a previous date. c. Except the one before and after the quiz which you want to force user to see the quiz. It is poor from a UX standpoint but thats the only solution as of now.November 27, 2015 at 1:19 pm #10996nena14SpectatorOkay, I'll try this. Thanks!
