update problems

Hi, I did the manual update by loading the installation file in the FTP-folder and unzipping it. It worked. But now I am just seeing two different wplms-themes. 3.4 and 4. I have made a lot of modifications in the 3.4 theme that I am currently using. Will they be gone (including changes in the theme-editor) or is it possible to just change between the two? Thanks :)

hi, well we recommend using a child theme for modifications direct editing of files is wrong and is not recommended yes obviously you will lose modification on updating the theme if you have not implemented the modifications in the child theme
