September 9, 2016 at 7:29 pm #69914skalra18SpectatorHi, Could you please see into this.? Even if the user is logged in, sometimes it shows that he is not. And it all gets okay on refreshing the page. Have a look at this video for reference : http://eduspread.in/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/Automatic-Logout-Error.mp4 I think this is because of caching. If yes, then is there one way to sort this..? May be we can removing caching from this page or something else that you could suggest..? Thanks.September 10, 2016 at 7:46 am #69970H.K. LatiyanParticipantYes this is clearly a caching issue. We recommend to disable caching for logged in users but still the plugin cache the page, which makes this issue as the caching plugin issue. You can also disable caching on some particular pages, go to the cache plugin page settings and you'll find the setting there.November 3, 2016 at 9:33 am #77845soulshakepowerSpectatorHi WPLMS team, It seems that since 2-3 months there is a login>logout issue for many people on the forum. I understand the caching thing, but this issue never occurred before WPLMS 2.2 (in my case) - and it looks like other people's topics on the forum about this issue had been posted after that update. I believe there's something else than the caching thing. Karolla86 on this post didn't had any caching plugin installed and the issue was happening. I have W3TC since a long time, and this issue started happening after 2.2 update, and it seems mostly happening on Safari iOS. Caching for logged in users is disabled, but I have to manually empty all the cache twice a day so my iOS users can use the website. They cannot guess they need to refresh the page after login, and in some cases it doesn't do it. They can check their profile and "my courses" page, but when they click on "start course" they get logged out and redirected to the membership options. Can you please investigate this a little bit further? I got support request every day on my website for this. Thank you!!!November 3, 2016 at 9:38 am #77846soulshakepowerSpectatorThis reply has been marked as private.November 4, 2016 at 2:37 pm #78133Anshuman SahuKeymasterWell in wplms version 2.2 we added support for caching recently .but with it we strongly recommended some settings to be done . Caching increases the site speed but it also have some cons . Mobile browsers tends to cache the sites more often . In your case you need to disable the page caching and browser caching in your site to resolve such issues . I would recommend to enable server side caching techniques like opcache , memcache or varnish and use scripts and style minifications only .November 4, 2016 at 3:34 pm #78150soulshakepowerSpectatorHi Alex, thanks for your quick reply as always :-) Please forgive me but I will try to clarify things: - You just said "in wplms version 2.2 we added support for caching".. but you ask me to disable very KEY caching functions.. What are these caching features support you added? Are they worth if they involve disabling page and browser caching??? Cause: - In this WPLMS with W3TC tip (3 month old!); you recommend to activate browser and page caching. So if I can't use these options now, well to me this is a step backward in WPLMS features and quality (and you should update the caching tip). I spent months working on my website caching and CDN and finally got up to 86 score on GTMetrix (with my current W3TC settings). I did try 3 level caching on my Siteground hosting with memcached, but my score dropped from 86 to 65... So I'm not really excited with this option. Do you have other alternatives? - Why does this has specifically to deal with login/logout function only? I am managing around 50 wordpress websites, on other themes, and never had this issue before (many of them have the same W3TC settings). Any chance this could be related to Buddypress? - Unfortunately, I can't disable W3TC to test without it (I have students all around the world), but how come Karolla86 in this post got the logout error without having any caching plugin installed? I am sorry to bother you with this, I just want to understand and consider all my options before disabling these core features.. that you were recommending 3 month ago on your tip.. I hope you will understand my approach and disappointment. Thanks for your time, I really appreciate your help and as I said in many posts, I'm always amazed by the huge work you guys did and keep doing! Cheers :-)November 5, 2016 at 2:03 pm #78286Anshuman SahuKeymaster- There are pros and cons of caching. If the caching plugins are not functioning as expected then it might be better to try out other caching plugins or disable caching altogether. If you search BuddyPress forums for caching plugins you will find similar experience from users. The setting recommended in our Demo is to "Disable Page caching for logged in users" , now when a user is logged in, the caching should be disabled and the user should "never", never see the logged out page, but it is simply a bug in the caching plugin if it still displays the cached part to logged in users. We're also on the receiving side of this, because the best caching plugins even do not assure the simplest of the functionality.November 5, 2016 at 2:12 pm #78289soulshakepowerSpectatorOk, I was recently discussing with the Fv flowplayer plugin team, and they were complaining about W3TC, responsible for a lot of issues on many of their clients websites. They are really 300% in favor of WP Rocket instead. I would love to have your opinion on it, do you know if you or other WPLMS users use it? Will you recommend it? Thank you so much!November 7, 2016 at 2:12 pm #78463Anshuman SahuKeymasterWell wplms is also fine with Wp rocket .But there is just one issue with it . There are many js events that happens on page load form different plugins in wplms from different js files . Wp rocket loads scripts asynchronously after the page is loaded and many events that suppose to run on page load does not run .November 16, 2016 at 5:09 pm #80240HalvardParticipantI had the same issue and contacted my hosting provider (i showed them your video). They told me it is a cooking issue and removed the "wpe-auth" and "wordpress_logged_in" cookies. I dont know how to remove them myself, but try to contact your hosting provider.November 17, 2016 at 11:11 am #80363H.K. LatiyanParticipant@halvard: Thanks for sharing the information here.November 21, 2016 at 9:10 pm #81196HalvardParticipantHi Latiyan, No it didn´t. I just talked with my hosting provider again and we did more testing. We moved the site into staging and the problem continued. Since they do not have any caching on staging, this is not a caching issue as you suggested. I also tried disabling and deleting all possible plugins, but the problem continues in staging. Here is a video from inkognito mode in staging without any plugins except the mandatory plugins: http://www.nettbasertekurs.no/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/logoutissue.mp4 Any ideas how we can fix this? Can you guys please take a look?November 21, 2016 at 9:11 pm #81197HalvardParticipantThis reply has been marked as private.November 22, 2016 at 2:50 pm #81392Skywalker [ ex VibeThemes]Participanthttp://screencast-o-matic.com/watch/cDX32JQhDV As you can see in the video, i am unable to replicate this issue on your site.November 24, 2016 at 4:53 pm #81871HalvardParticipantIt seems like the bug only affect some people. I just launched a new course and a few people have already completed it, but i have one really angry user who are not able to take the course. First she was logged off multiple times, and then when she goes to the my course page and clicks "start course" after i manually added her to the course, she was asked to contact administrator. Can you please register a new user and take this course: https://www.nettbasertekurs.no/nettkurs/fra-a-til-punktum/ Hopefully the problem will hit you to.
