Change header (main menu) hover color

I have some issues with the link / text color of the main header (where the main menu is located). As I hover over the header or click the color turn blue, however my header is also blue and therefore these settings give too little contrast. I managed to make the link hover color white, however when the cursor enters the header the text still turns blue. Is there some way to make this white?   See attachment for preview.
