Hello,
Our site is running pretty big now, and I'm looking on how to optimize the DB, so that we can increase site speed. We currently have +- 2 milion postmeta items, which is increasing every day. Partially as I can see this is due to the fact that Every user that follows a course is put into a post-meta field.
Is there a way to optimize this, so that in an updated version the people linked to the course are in 1 field, not in 1000+ seperate fields? Or any other suggestion to make sure we can scale it to the max :D.
Thanks,
Hi
@dantwah
When a user follows a course there is only one meta field is added in database which includes marks, expiry time and status only. After this meta field is updated,, so only one field is created for one user.
Please can someone advise on how to scale back the growing metadata issue on our site.
We have a planned feature request called "Archive users". Which is basically archive user and its data from active database, so that it is not taken into account for mysql calculations.
Do you think this fits your issue as well ?
the tables which will reflect with this are:
wp_users
wp_usermets
wp_postmeta
wp_commentmeta
This sounds great. When will this be available?
may be with the wplms 4.0 if not then in next update after that.
