June 25, 2016 at 6:14 am #55128mastermfParticipantHi, i need help here ASAP! i just hired a translator to translate the theme and most of it's plugins, and he is almost finished ... but now i have update available for the theme and plugins !!. i can't update the theme and it's plugins because am afraid i might lose the translations ... so i need you to help me keep the translation safe every update . p.s : please note that the translation i have now is Customized to my website only ... so it won't work for you ... so i can't give it to you for future updates . i need a way to keep my translations safe and work every update ...June 25, 2016 at 6:42 am #55135sandyMemberYes you should be careful while doing this. Firstly, which plugin are you using for translations ? Codestyling with Preserver or Loco translate both preserver the translation files in wp-content/languages folder and after updating the plugins/theme you only need to press the re-sync button to adjust the translations. If you're using any of the above plugins simply open the folllowing link : yoursite.com/wp-content/languages and you should see all the translation files in your site. The themes files are located in themes folder, the plugin translation files are located in plugins folders. It is very important that you backup your translation files before updating.June 25, 2016 at 7:41 am #55157mastermfParticipantHi, thank you for your fast reply actually i am using "loco translate" but this plugin has saved the translation files into the theme language folder and the plugins language folders, not into : means for example : the translation files of wplms theme is like this : mysite/wp-content/themes/wplms/languages not like this : mysite/wp-content/languages am waiting till you help me .. thanks in advanceJune 25, 2016 at 7:44 am #55158mastermfParticipantsorry i didn't write all these codes in my last reply ... should i re post my reply ?June 27, 2016 at 12:55 am #55217mastermfParticipantam still waiting for solutionJune 27, 2016 at 7:34 am #55247Anshuman SahuKeymasterWell then you have to manually put the translation in your global languages folder by copying all the translation files form your theme and all plugins and then pasting then in to languages folder . If you update your theme and plugins now then definitely you are going to lose all translations . First of all take backup of all your translation files . There must be a languages folder in your wp-content folder .If not then create one . Inside you languages folder you must have a "plugins" and a "themes" folder . Now theme translation files which would be in your wp-content/themes/wplms/languages folder and starting like vibe-en_US.po/mo (note "en_US" is text domain for english) will go in wp-content/languages themes folder . And all the translation files in your vibe and wplms plugins which would be in your wp-content/plugins/plugin_folder/languages will go in wp-content/languages/plugins folder . Then next time install the Code styling plugin and re-scan the translation files . It will sync the translation with global languages folder . refer : https://wplms.io/support/knowledge-base/translate-using-codestyling-localization-plugin/ Install both codestyling plugin and its preserver.June 28, 2016 at 2:30 pm #55446mastermfParticipantHi .. things are goin really Complicated !! i can't find such a plugin called code styling or codestylinglocalization !!! i have got a copy of all my translation files ... then i updated the theme and all it's plugins . then i have created a folder in wp-content/languages called it themes and i have put in it the po and mo files of wplms and wplms-modern and wplms-blank-ChiledTheme and also put the po and mo files of all the other plugins in wp-content/languages/plugins but the language is still not appearing !!!! i still need help !June 29, 2016 at 7:46 am #55556Anshuman SahuKeymasterOkay please note that you have to just copy the language files of the theme in the themes folder .You do not have to create any folder with theme name in wp-content/languages/themes folder . Also note here that wplms theme have vibe- as suffix for the language file . So it would be vibe-en_US.po/mo for the wplms theme . For modern theme it would be wplms_modern-en_US.po/mo . Note here that the filename is different for each theme ,therefore you do not have to create any folder in theme folder . the same thing will follow for the plugins . just need to copy the language files of all plugins in wp-content/languages/plugins folder . Codestyling plugin and its preserver is attached below the tip here : https://wplms.io/support/knowledge-base/translate-using-codestyling-localization-plugin/ After installing and activating both the plugins please just re-scan the files . refer : http://prntscr.com/bmh2rs
