Super Instructor question

I saw your post (https://vibethemes.com/documentation/wplms/knowledge-base/super-instructor/) about “Super Instructor”.

This is actually what I want to achieve. I want to give specific teacher, super instructor rights, means they should get access to each course on the whole website to administrate this.

Is this code/hint still working because I tried it at in the suggested file customizer_class.php and in functions.php in my child theme but it didn’t?

Hi…

The code you are referring to is not what you think it is.

You want an instructor who can manage all the courses on the website, but that code is not for this. This is not available in wplms.

This code is only for removing the instructor privacy for some particular instructors.

In instructor privacy the instructors cannot see or add the content created by some other instructors in their course. But by adding the code in that tip some instructors can see and add the content created by other instructors in their course but others cannot.

mmh, so how could I give one or two editors the rights to see and edit the admin tab without giving him admin rights? You said it is not possible?

We use the platform in this way that not only each instructor is responsible for his or her content but we as the company take care about all courses and lessons. In this company there are some editors who add the courses and the lessons and connect everything and also should see the statistics and manage everything which has to do with the courses (like quizzes and assignments). We only record the video lessons with the instructors that’s it.

Is there any chance to give these editors the necessary rights to manage all the courses and if, which rights are these. I won’t give these editors full access admin rights for this. We are using the plugins user role editor (pro edition) and adminimize for these editors to at least add and edit courses and giving them only specific rights to do that.

This is not available in wplms.

You can make them admin if you like but there is no super instructor role that you can provide to the users.

In wplms we only check two capabilities, edit_posts and manage_options, if the user can edit_posts but cannot manage_options then the user is considered as instructor but if the user can manage_options then the user is considered admin.
