Hi , I too having problem in installing one instructor child theme . Facing issues as need to install version 2.6. Is the version is updated as mentioned in the previous post? where I can get the version 2.6 .

Well latest version of one instructor child theme is available in latest wplms package .
please replace your old one instructor child theme with new one manually via ftp or cpanel .
HEre is tutorial on how to do that . This is for main theme but also applicable for child themes also :

Thanks for the quick reply. the theme downloaded from theme forest only yesterday. is the update happened today. as per instruction the parent theme folder also to be replaced. am I correct ?

You can update the theme using the same tutorial as it is .

You can download the latest child theme from the wplms package from the envato.
Now you have to manually update the child theme, refer this tutorial:
