September 2, 2020 at 8:48 am #300127Kaedar1ParticipantHello, I was attempting to follow the instructions to migrate from WPLMS 3.0 to 4.0. I have automatic updates on my site. It shows that I have 4.061 installed. However, reviewing the installation video I realize I have not migrated from the 3.0 platform. I tried to do it myself, deactivating plugins but it did not work. My site stopped working properly so I had to reinstall the old plugins. It working for now, but I need to migrate. I could sure use your help.September 3, 2020 at 11:29 am #300435VeronicaModeratorhi, please check this if installing fresh wplms4:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KTT2a-L3F8o if you are updating the theme then follow: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q_x-HOMItL8 please make sure that you have followed the tip properly NOTE: we never suggest any user go for such a big update on the running site with live users if you have live users on your site with running course then I suggest you to please first implement the same on the testing site and update the same on running site. you can create staging/testing site and can perform the update there then apply the changes on your live site never forgot to take the backup of your live site before making changes. NOTE: if you run the setup wizard it will automatically make changes according to its need but if you want to apply the styling of your present site skip the steps regarding the styling/demo. but if you are unable to do so then please provide test site to us we will install the version4September 9, 2020 at 12:46 am #301823Kaedar1ParticipantI have watched the video before I sent the note. Can I revert back to the 3.0?September 9, 2020 at 4:10 am #301843VeronicaModeratorhi, we can set up the theme for you if you want but if you want to revert the theme on version 4 then you can use this tip https://wplms.io/support/knowledge-base/reverting-from-4-0-to-3-x/September 9, 2020 at 9:51 pm #302133Kaedar1ParticipantThis reply has been marked as private.September 10, 2020 at 10:27 am #302282VeronicaModeratorhi, we have updated the theme but I think you have configured the home page that's why the home page messed up so we need to know that which demo you want to install on your site please confirmSeptember 10, 2020 at 2:01 pm #302742Kaedar1ParticipantHi Veronica, I can take care of the home page. I will be using a different one than WPLMS. What I want to make sure of is that people can reach their course materials as they were before. I reactivated my essential plugins, like memberpress, and thrive themes (homepage). I am watching the video again. I activated the VibeBP and Wplms. But I can't seem to get to my dashboard and now messaging does not work. Is there more that needs to be done with migrating and updating?September 11, 2020 at 6:58 am #304586VeronicaModeratorhi if you want a dashboard like that http://prntscr.com/ufcw3w then it is version 4 template so to implement the version 4 template you need to select blank layout from here http://prntscr.com/ufd3yvSeptember 11, 2020 at 10:43 am #305113Kaedar1ParticipantHi Veronica, I saw the screenshots. How do I navigate to those menus? They are not setup like that in my admin panel. You can direct me to a tutorial. Also, the messaging in not working. Do I need to "turn it on?" Once I activated VibeBP I did't panel with all the icons I needed to activate never showed up. How can I navigate to that. The video in the 4.0 Installation tutorial doesn't tell me that. Thanks for your help.September 12, 2020 at 8:23 am #309818Scott LangModeratorHi, Here is a video tutorial to add menu in web app:http://somup.com/cYQlj3Xyr5September 13, 2020 at 6:56 pm #310076Kaedar1ParticipantThis reply has been marked as private.September 14, 2020 at 9:47 am #310279Kaedar1ParticipantThis reply has been marked as private.September 15, 2020 at 1:23 pm #311075VeronicaModeratorhi, for this http://prntscr.com/uhoh9y if you check wp-admin>>apperance>>customize>>layout>>then select blank layout
it will work for sure
I think lots of confusion here please write down the issues one by one we will try to solve them one by one also, make sure the explanation should be proper so any of our support team members will be able to understand it we will try that v4 configuration become perfect for youSeptember 15, 2020 at 8:18 pm #311172Kaedar1ParticipantHi Veronica, I will try to be more clear about the issues I am having. I followed your advice and did this "if you check wp-admin>>apperance>>customize>>layout>>then select blank layout changed the templates to the blank template" When I did that and went to look at the dashboard the whole page was an unrecognizable language that looked like the font "wingdings." I could only see my profile picture. Nothing else on the page accept wingdings font. It looked nothing like the new dashboard page shown in the video. I had to switch it back so that it looked like the old version 3. I need the profile cards updated to version 4 I need member cards (I guess that's something different than profile cards) I need the course layout updated to version 4 I need the course cards updated to version 4 For some reason, the messaging app does not send messages between me and my students any longer on my website. I don't know why.September 16, 2020 at 5:59 am #311252JacksonBlockedHello, Follow these tips step by step: 1- First make sure everything should be updated to the latest version, https://prnt.sc/uh0ex1 2- How to make a blank course layout (Appearance > Customizer > Layouts>>select blank) load a layout from VibeBP > Course Layouts from here you can manage your single course page layout, Refer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QGs1QpVKpXI&t=662s Thanks, -
