activation email not working

Hello, I have a problem with activation mails on my site. The sign up process says the activation mail has been delivered, however no mail is received. I also tried testing the forgot password option and got the following error;

The email could not be sent. Possible reason: your host may have disabled the mail() function.

  Please help rectify this

The description clearly says that your web host may have disabled emailing. Try other plugins like PostMan SMTP or Gmail SMTP plugin :https://wplms.io/support/knowledge-base/wplms-mail-smtp-gmail-smtp/

Yes, i tried installing wp mail smtp and input my details, however the mails still dont appear to deliver

Are you still getting this "your host may have disabled mail() function " .If so then please contact your webhost on this . If not and emails are not going out then please share : site url and admin credentials with us to check this issue at your end .
