Activation link not found upon clicking on it after registration

Hi, I am having some issue with registration, it is that when i register , i successfully receive email but when i click on activation link, it says 404 not found. please help me through this. thanks

Okay please goto wp-admin -> pages -> add new page named as activate then goto wp-admin -> settings -> buddypress -> pages -> select this page in "Activate" there . Then register a dummy user on your site (coz this fix will work with new registrations only) , check if it still throws the 404 error .
