Hello, Do we have to update buddypres to 5.0? Is it risky ? Thank you.

Nope its you call .Its not necessary to update it right now. Wplms works fine with both 5.0 and 4.x buddypress versions . There are no major changes in buddypress 5.0 except they added api in it .
