Course Directory Widget vs. Settings-BuddyPress-Pages

Hi, I don't understand the difference between the course page I can create with the "Course Directory Widget" in the Elementor Builder and the Page created choosing a page in the the Settings -> BuddyPress-> tab Pages -> Course select. They are to different way to obtain the save course archive pages or there are other differences?

Its not necessary to choose the course page here " Settings -> BuddyPress-> tab Pages -> Course select".It was necessary previously .
