    You are confusing the single unit page with course status page. Note that student cannot access the single unit page in Wplms but instructors and admins can . To have the layout where whole curriculum loads on one side and unit content on other you have to click on start/continue course button (these button are shown only to user who is enrolled in course) / check this video up : https://youtu.be/MFtX9ussRKk?t=44   also check if start course page is set in your wp-admin -> WPLMS -> course manager -> " take this  course page  " : if not then : Please create a page named start course and select its page template to be " Start course page   " and then select this page back in wp-admin -> wplms -> course manager -> take this  course page .
