November 8, 2016 at 1:31 pm #78654educatParticipantHi, I'm having a problem with the duration settings. In the online courses, it acts as an expiry setting and user's access expires before they have the chance to do the course. I know I can put 9999 in the duration field to grant them access for infinite time, but it's confusing! If the users sees: Course X, duration - 10 hours, they assume the course contains 10 hours of video classes. I don't know, maybe I'm missing something or doing it wrong, that's why I am asking: How can this be solved?November 9, 2016 at 12:42 pm #78821H.K. LatiyanParticipantYes the course duration is the time that the students are allowed to access the course. If you set the course duration to 10 hours then the course will expire after 10 hours. You can set any duration according to your requirements. If your users are getting confused then you can use loco translate plugin and translate the course duration into something else like "course will expire in", refer: https://wplms.io/support/knowledge-base/translate-using-loco-translate-plugin/November 9, 2016 at 3:55 pm #78868educatParticipantYeah, but is there a way to register the... workload (course hours) too?November 10, 2016 at 1:00 pm #79004H.K. LatiyanParticipantPlease clarify what you mean by register the workload ?November 10, 2016 at 4:22 pm #79069educatParticipantThe amount of hours of the course. Example, the course has 10 lessons, each of them lasts one hour, so the full amount would be 10 hours. It is different from the duration, that sets the expiration time.November 11, 2016 at 7:40 am #79149Anshuman SahuKeymasterWell you can have it this way : course duration set to 9999 days from course settings and this will show unlimited access to students . to show the total durations of your units in course please apply this tip : https://wplms.io/support/knowledge-base/show-number-of-units-and-total-duration-of-units-in-course-details/November 11, 2016 at 12:34 pm #79263educatParticipantThat caused an error in my site that made it not load the pages. And now, one of the pages was lost http://prntscr.com/d5x6dk That page exists, but its showing error 404 O.o The same thing is happening to several pages, so erased the code and, after some time, things went back to normal.November 12, 2016 at 8:06 am #79376H.K. LatiyanParticipantPlease make sure you copy the exact code, first copy the code in the notepad then copy the code from notepad to your wplms-customizer.php file. This will remove any extra content from being copied to the file. Then first resave the permalinks and then check. Let me know if this helps.December 9, 2016 at 7:14 pm #84498educatParticipantThanks for the tip! In the end, your suggestion didin't solve the problem the way I wanted. These did the trick, though: https://wplms.io/support/knowledge-base/adding-a-custom-field-to-add-custom-information-in-course-details/ https://wplms.io/support/forums/topic/course-custom-nav-items-on-sidebar/December 12, 2016 at 5:28 am #84706H.K. LatiyanParticipantThanks for the update.
