Drip Email notifications sent by unit

While drip feed is off and all units are available to a user, would be great to schedule an email reminder sent when students commence studying a chapter. Using prompts like "Would you like to commence studying this chapter now? You will receive reminders to complete the chapter. - Yes/No". The system would recognise that they are starting to study that chapter, and send out automatic emails at regular time intervals until they finish going through all units and sections and mark them as 'completed'. This would help to keep students studying. Is there any option for this now, maybe you can advise some aside plugins? Thx.
