Home, header and footer How To?

I'm WP designer from about 15 years, with many different themes, but really I don't understand where begin to create header and footer in WPLMS.

Your standard home page, single instructor, is without header and footer, I try to setup them in WPLMS/"getting starded" and save them, but nothin appen in the pages.

Is there a guide for this basic and "must be simple" features?
